Growing a business means you need a constant source of new leads and
email marketing is a great way to follow up with those leads. It took me
a long time to really ‘get’ this fact.
If you’ve not seen them, an email marketing giveaway is a sort of ‘event’ where a number of marketers get together and offer their products or something of value for free in exchange for the email of participants. The marketers who are offering their products are responsible for choosing what they want to offer for free and usually also the delivery of the product (though it may vary depending on the rules set by the organizer).
If you decided to give away a product in an event of this sort I do
recommend you be very picky over which you join. The good ones are going
to be high, quality, non-spammy type of deals where real good content
is given away.
Here are the steps:
1. Setup your giveaway email list.
2. Setup your confirmation email.
3. Setup your OTO (One time offer) page and set it as the page people see when they confirm opt-in.
4. Setup a follow-up email sequence to remind people about your offer.
Once sign-ups start coming in you’ll want to monitor the results of your offer and adjust it if needed.
Now your OTO really should be a One Time Offer, and your follow-up sequence should be packed with value and information about the product they also downloaded. You don’t want to come across as a spammer and you don’t want to BE a spammer. You do want to market your business, though. Don’t be afraid to tell people what you have to offer if you offer something good!
